A  WORD FROM DR. DON

Back To Home

IT IS MY SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITY TO SHARE WITH OTHERS WHAT THE  LORD HAS SHARED WITH ME

It has been a while since I have posted to this blog and for that, I apologize. Indeed sometimes life gets in the way in being of service to the Lord.  I would like to think nothing comes before service to God but there are times in life when the service to God is not to others but to yourself and your family.

This blog is most important to me.  My desire is that others know what I know about the Holy Spirit. You do not have to be a Saint to know the Lord does not share his truths with you so you can keep it to yourself.  It is a spiritual responsibility to give to others that which has been given to you by God.  I try to do that through Whispers To and From The Holy Spirit.

Here and now I recommit to the subscribers to this blog and to Christ that through the power of the Holy Spirit I will regularly post to the blog Whispers to and from the Holy Spirit. In doing this it is my hope that when you read these very same words you determine whether there is any meaning in them for you.

The Holy Spirit  speaks universally. That is to say, even though these words were given to me to speak them back to the Lord or were spoken directly to me by the Lord  through the Holy Spirit, these words may apply to you and where you are in your life or where you have been or where you are going,  We are all the same in the Lord , so I believe there is meaning in these words for you too.

More importantly the purpose of this blog is to emphasize the importance of talking with the Holy Spirit day in and day out. Not only at prayer time but throughout your day. If you do not have steady communication with the Lord through the Holy Spirit and I mean not only you talking wiht the Holy Spirit but the Holy Spirit talking with you, you cannot have a full spiritual life. It is that simple. My hope is this blog will help all who seek a more intimate relationship with Christ.

I also want you to know if you ever have any questions or concerns about the Holy Spirit in your life feel free to give me a call. It would be my great pleasure to talk to you. God bless and stay well

ALL WILL BE WELL

WHISPER FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT

All Will Be Well

Turn Your life
over to me,
with the promise
and intent
never to take it back.
A total surrender,
but not with the regret
of a war lost,
but the joy
of a war won.
That after a life
of selfishness and sin
you realize
you cannot control
your life, or
the life of those
around you.
Now, at long last
you can rest in me
with the understanding
that all will be well.

Dr. Don’s Reflection

Why do I seek the approval and assurances of other people? Thank God I do it far less these days. I find the more I am in Christ, the less I need approvals and assurances from other people. The more I am in Christ, the less approval and assurances I get because the world’s way is not God’s way. And God’s way is my way.

In this Whisper From the Holy Spirit, however, I was told to trust the Lord and stop seeking approvals and assurances from others.  I was instructed not only to turn my trust over to the Lord but my entire life and that I must do so without regret and with the intent of never taking either one back.

For me, it became clear that you cannot just walk sometimes with Christ.  After a time I fully realized that a walk with Christ, no matter how difficult, is better than a walk with anyone else, anywhere else.  Understanding this made me finally realize that the approvals and assurances of others are not that important. My relationship with Christ is most important to me, no matter what anyone else thinks of it of me.

Dr. Don’s Comment

Have you had enough of trying to run your life, your way and using the world’s approach of being concerned about what you want everyone else to think of you?  What did you ever get from the world that did not cost you a big piece of yourself?  Do you finally realize that if you keep on seeking the approvals and assurances of other people, there will be nothing left of you? You will have given up entirely who you are and who you could be for the approvals and assurances of others.

When you abandon your desire to please others and decide to seek only to please God, you can rest in the Lord and depend on Him. You then can let Him take control of the protection, provision, and power of your life.  At long last, you do not care what others think as you walk and work with Christ who gives you all the assurance you will ever need. With Christ, you know that all will be well and the opinions of others or the assurances you seek from them are useless. All the approvals and assurances of the world will never give you what you get from a life with Christ.
