WHISPERS TO AND FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT

Stay Connected

You always return
no matter how far
you roam or stray
from me.
Regardless of how often
the world steals you
from me, and you let it,
you always come back.
We are so connected
in divine love.
There is nothing that
will separate us from
each other.
Even your sins,
no matter how great
will not drive
you away from me.
You will always return
seeking forgiveness
and the peace and
the comfort of my love.

Dr. Don’s Reflection

The Holy Spirit does not always tell you what you want to hear.  In this Whisper, he is giving me good news and bad news.  The bad news is that I roam from him. I let the world steal me away from his presence and grace, and I sin. The good news is I will always come back to him and that we are so connected that will always be.

It is how we are connected that makes all the difference. The Holy Spirit whispered that we are connected with “divine love.”  It is not just the love of man that gets turned off and on depending on the circumstance. No, it is a divine love, an everlasting love that remains deep even in the shadow of sin.

The Holy Spirit is telling me there is nothing in this world that will separate me from my loving God. Not even my sins, no matter how great my sins are or will be, I will not be separated from my God. Why? Because the Holy Spirit is telling me I will always return to God seeking his forgiveness and the peace and comfort that comes with it. How cool is that?

Now that does not mean I am going to sin for the heck of it but what it does mean is that he loves me so much, we have become so connected that sin can never drive God away from me. He will always be there for me, no matter what, even in sin.  That is absolutely amazing.

In rereading this whisper, I feel so blessed, so entitled that there is not a sin big or bad enough that will stop me from coming to the Lord asking his forgiveness and receiving it from his loving, caring grace.

I do not deserve this sort of love, but I know I love him only because he first loved me. How blessed am I?

Dr. Don’s Comments

So many times, people think they have sinned so much and so severely that they could never seek and receive forgiveness. That is so wrong.  If you have a relationship with Christ or not, he is not going to walk from it because you have sinned.  So why should you?  And if you don’t have a relationship with Christ and you repent, your sins will be forgiven.

Christ knows your heart. If in your heart, you have a love for him, and you seek intimacy with him through your relationship with the Holy Spirit, forgiveness will always be yours.  And if you do not have a relationship with Christ but you seek his love through contrition, forgiveness too will always be yours

Christ will always be willing and waiting to forgive your sins. Christ knows in your heart the love you have for him  or want to have for him, as well as he knows your flesh and its frailty. There is no sin you can bring to Christ that he cannot forgive if done with a contrite heart.

Have you been moving away from Christ because of your sin?  Do you feel so guilty that you cannot approach Christ for forgiveness.?  Is you love genuine for Christ?  Is it real? Do you feel it? Do you try to show it even if you fail in doing so?  Do you want Christ in the midst of your human weakness?  Then, my brother or sister, you need to know that Christ not only wants you as you are, but he wants to give you the grace and strength to be re-created in him.  Don’t run away. In your mind, come to the foot of the cross and look up to him. See the anguish in his face.  Picture the blood running down his face and along his body?  And think, why would he do all this if he did not love me more than SIN.

Christ will never stop reaching out to you, loving you and forgiving you. Get that, not only in your mind but in your heart.  Always seek to stay attached to God, no matter what.
