WHISPERS TO AND FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT

Hurt And Healed

In you, I hurt not
With your grace
I am mended
In your love and peace
I am healed.
How you must
love me so Lord,
to take away all my hurt.
How does your love handle
all of my fears, anxieties
and unbeliefs.
Is it I that cannot live
with my imperfection.
Help me, Lord
accept me in my fullness
as you always do.
Your loving acceptance
has been my salvation.

                                                                                                                                  Dr. Don’s Reflections

The grace of God never ceases to amaze me. He knows I love him and strive to be with him in all aspects of my life. I am far from successful or saintly that is for sure, but that does not matter to a loving God. To a loving God, he takes you where you are and helps you get where he wants you to be, and we always do not know where that is.

He knows that being by him, with him and in him is my intent and in knowing that he protects me and provides for me always.  He knows I want to go where he wants me to be, so he protects me from me, the world, and Satan so I can get there. But along the way hurt comes from all of these three sources and most of the time it is too much for the human heart to take. Humanity is frail. Thus when I am besieged with fear, anxiety, worry, and hurt where in my humanity, I can run.  Booze, drugs,  excessive work, sleep, food, which all will end me up in depression. No, I go to Christ through the Holy Spirit to seek the comfort of the Father.

Isn’t that what most kids do when they are afraid or get hurt in some way, they run to Daddy or Mommy because they know their fears and hurts will be soothed. Well, that is how it is with me and God, no matter what the hurt is or where it came from through the grace of God soothes me and re-sets the direction of my walk with him and to him and strengthens me in the process.

My knowing that no matter what happens to me in life, I can go to the Holy Spirit, who is the comforter if empowering. The Holy Spirit then goes to Christ who is the wonder counselor, and Jesus goes to God who is the father.  That is what my faith gives me, a comforter, a counselor, and a father.  Yes, self, the world, and Satan can deliver a soul some devasting blows, but in my faith, I deal with them and end up better off for them.  There is no “bad” with Christ. All the things that happen to us, he will bring good from.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.

                                                                                                                                 Dr. Don’s Comments.

Are you surprised when life’s hurts come your way?  Are you ready for the battles that we make for ourselves, get from the world, and that are delivered by Satan? Do you have a place to go, a being who will talk to you and guide and comfort you when you are really hurting?   In times of life’s troubles, you need to depend on your faith.  The faith that tells you there are three God’s in one, all with a different purpose but all with the same omnipresence and omnipower. A faith that tells you the Holy Spirit will comfort you, and Jesus Christ will counsel you and God the Father will love and take care of you.

I am assuming if you are reading this blog that you have some degree of faith. If you do not, then may God help you because to get through life in this world without faith in God is to live a life of hell. If you live without faith, you do not have to wonder what hell is like because you are living it on earth. If you have faith and you are trying to do God’s will, then you can get to the point where “the kingdom will come on earth as it is in heaven.”

So if you have faith, use it. Run to the Lord with your hurts. Talk to the Holy Spirit as if you were paying a $150 an hour for a therapist. Because for me, the Holy Spirit has been my therapist, and he talks to me all the time and in particular when I hurt and brings the love, care, and cure of Jesus Christ and Father God to me.

I know that this may sound crazy, but it is true. It is where humanity joins divinity for the sole purpose of soul-saving salvation. I really urge you to bring your hurts and troubles to the Lord through the Holy Spirit.  Do not stop going to your therapist or get whatever medical or mental help you need but get with the Holy Spirit in a quiet spot and tell him how you hurt. Feel free to cry, be angry, and ask why you?  But when you’re through talking or even yelling, you got to give the Holy Spirit a chance to talk to you. You have to sit quietly and listen to what he has to say to you. And if you do not hear his word right away return again and again until you do. Go to the same prayer spot and listen.

You are not a human on a spiritual journey, you are a spirit on a human journey, and that journey is tough. The destination is eternal life. The goal for you is to beat death as Jesus did when he ascended into heaven. What his ascension said is he can face seemingly insurmountable difficulties in his life. You can spit on him, ridicule him, strip him, insult him, beat him up, nail him to the cross, spear his heart, and kill him but you cannot kill his spirit. It will rise to a place where  Father God lives, and eternal life will be his. Death for Jesus was not the end, but the beginning and the same eternal destination is yours as you live through a life of challenges and battles that will lead to the ultimate victory and that is life after death.

So when life is beating you up remember what victory in Jesus brings. Be guided and counseled by the Holy Spirit about peace on earth and eternal life. With the help of the Holy Spirit, you can be strong and peaceful through life’s storms. It is not that you will not hurt and suffer, but you will do it with the peace and strength of the Lord. With Christ, all your hurts will be healed.
