WHISPER FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT

In My Presence

My presence in you is
constantly being renewed.
In receiving me, you do
not remain the same,
and neither do I.
I will always renew
my presence in you
deeper, stronger, wiser,
and more confiding
and convicting.
As you live in me
you will grow and
the more you receive me
the more you will grow.
Always look for my presence
to be ever coming and everlasting.

Dr. Don’s Reflection

A relationship with God never stays the same. That is why he has given us the Holy Spirit so that the Holy Spirit can counsel us on accepting and receiving God so that he may grow in us and we may grow in him. For years it was “the same old same old” in my prayer life and relationship with the Lord. I loved him; I knew he was in my life if, through no other way but baptism, I didn’t feel entirely connected to him. I wasn’t growing, I wasn’t going backward, but I wasn’t going toward fulfillment in my spiritual life.  It wasn’t until I truly accepted the Holy Spirit as given to the apostles as written in the amplified bible.  John 14:26, that my life in Christ became passionate.

26 “But the [a] Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.”

When I took this for truth, I realized that this was the promise of Jesus Christ for he knew I could not do it alone. He knew when he left the earth the apostles would be useless to themselves and Christian conversion without the power of the Holy Spirit. And that is precisely how I feel now. I feel useless without the Holy Spirit to guide me, to protect me, to intercede for me, to counsel me, to comfort me, to strengthen me, and to stand by me as he shows me how to accept Jesus Christ more in my life. Thus, I become less, and he becomes more.

My prayer every morning is for at least a little piece of me to die. I tell God, I don’t care what it is you kill off, maybe it could be a piece of my stubbornness; it may be a piece of my judgment, or perhaps a part of my anger or a bit of my sloth. I do not care what it is as long as something that is not worthy of Christ dies in me each day. I pray for purification. This whisper is telling me that God is going to be in my life more and the more I can accept him the more I grow in him, with him, for him and by him. Less of me and more of Christ until I am no more that is dying to self.

What about you, do you feel connected? Is your prayer life just so-so? Are you looking for deeper intimacy and presence of Jesus Christ in you and you in him? Do you have a working relationship with the Holy Spirit as intended by God in John 14:26?  Have you accepted the reality that Christ did not want you to be alone that he wanted you to have the power of the Holy Spirit to get through this life in the world and to build a spiritual connection that will lead to everlasting life?

The Holy Spirit will help you in every aspect of your life your marriage your children you work your behavior and most of all your love and understanding Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will always be there with you and for you. Hear me when I say this I am no holy roller but I can tell you that my life changed when I took on the Holy Spirit to be all the things that Jesus said he could be to me.

If you are sick of going it alone, then maybe you want to invite the Holy Spirit to fulfill the promise that Jesus made to the apostles when he ascended to his father. Simply say these words….

“Jesus I have had enough. I  want to get to know you and love you more without the help of the Holy Spirit. Maybe I do not know how it all works, but I know you enough to know that it does work.  Send me the Holy Spirit so I may know your presence and your presence will be ever coming and everlasting to me”.

If you spoke these words to Jesus, you have the power of the Holy Spirit. Continue always accepting the Holy Spirit more and more. The Holy Spirit will show you want to do. Remember the more you receive him, the more you grow in
